The Children’s Museum of Manhattan and the American Museum of Natural History are located on the Upper West Side and are great places you should take your children to.
On the north side of this neighborhood, there is a large student community on the Columbia University student campus, which makes this area a good place for students. Where there are students, there’s a healthy nightlife, so people looking for a place with great nightlife will feel at home on the Upper West Side.
Harlem
Harlem is a place with a lot of history and a lot of diversity. Expatriates from all over the world prefer to stay in Harlem because of its warm welcoming atmosphere, and the sense of community that you get when you live there.
Harlem is home to some of New York’s higher institutions like City College of New York, Manhattan School of Music, and Columbia University, which makes it a great place for students. There are also brilliant public and private schools in Harlem, so your child gets the best education in a tight-knit community.
Midtown Manhattan

Don’t let the name scare you away, Hell’s Kitchen is a neighborhood where you can have access to great nightlife, great theatre, and loads of great fun.

Chelsea is a great place for the LGBTQ community because it has loads of gay bars, popular hangout spots, and gay residents. It has been one of the most famous LGBTQ areas since the 1970s.
Kip’s Bay
Kip’s Bay is one of the smallest neighborhoods, and it’s located East of Chelsea. It is a relatively peaceful area with fantastic schools, which makes it one of the best areas for families to live in.
Two prestigious private schools, Martel School and the British International School of New York are located in this small neighborhood. Kip’s Bay is close to the bustling places in Lower Manhattan, so if you’re up for an occasional night on the town, a short trip there will help.
Lower Manhattan
The Lower East Side
If you’re a fan of non-stop nightlife, you’ll most definitely find your place here. Located in the southeast pocket, this hotspot is daily evolving into an edgy, energetic, and eclectic place to live.
