SharedEasy Stories: Coliving with Grace from Brazil, a Traveler’s Experience in NYC

The Essentials:

  • Hometown: Sao Paulo, Brazil
  • Lifestyle: Traveler
  • Projects: Travel more and more.
  • Industry: Events

My Background

I’m an Events Manager in Brazil, and I have worked on the most important projects there and in other countries. I have worked on projects for the Olympic Games, World Cup, Miss Universe, Disney Parade, Lollapalooza and a lot of corporate events. I’ve lived in Malta, Buenos Aires, Lima and now NYC.

I also have traveled around a few cities like Rome, Barcelona, Cancun, Punta Cana, Miami and Orlando and had backpacked around South America.

Current Projects

I’m in New York to improve my English and to get to know and experience this amazing city.

What’s Next for Me?

I’m always planning my next trip. Currently, I’m thinking about Cuba and Jamaica as my next stop. Also, it’s always been a goal of mine to learn some French — so that might take me on another adventure.

Best Part about my NYC Experience so far?

It looks like we live in a movie! Every corner holds something new and different and the many people that make up the City remind me of a movie I’ve seen or a TV series that I have watched!!! Every day I find something new in this city! It truly is one of the most exciting cities in the world.

A Traveler’s Advice:

When you are traveling, you don’t look at only the tourist places. The most interesting experiences I have had during my travels has been observing the culture and the way of life of the people who live there. It’s important to immerse yourself in the culture and the flavors of the city and you do that by getting to know the people, the off-the-beaten-track places, the hidden gems. There are so many of these in NYC. Coliving helps enrich this experience because you become part of a community and the shared experiences of living together and discovering all that New York has to offer is even better when shared.

What’s got me Inspired from my Time in NYC:

An interesting thing in this city is that everyone is from another city or country and you are just one more person in the crazy mix that is welcome here. It doesn’t matter if you are here to travel, to study, to work — everyone can be a part of the NYC experience.
