SharedEasy Member’s Stories: Intern Yoan Gross

Meet Yoan from Paris, France. Yoan is a third-year student at HETIC in Paris and is here for an exciting six-month internship with Capgemini AIE in New York City. His specialties are in all facets of design including web design, web development, motion design, 3D design, digital marketing, and communications just to name a few. Yoan is passionate about his field which is evident from his portfolio.

Yoan is in the SharedEasy Bernard Brooklyn Home and the shots he has taken from the rooftop deck are amazing. Check out his blog on ny.grossyoan.fr for some of the best captures of the Manhattan Skyline from the Bernard Home rooftop. His first impression of New York: “Everything is gigantic. Paris looks like a country village compared to New York.”

The NYC Experience

Admittedly, it’s been a different experience for Yoan as he arrived in the midst of quarantine. However, he still managed to see Central Park, all of Midtown, Lower Manhattan including the awe-inspiring Oculus and World Trade Center. He’s walked the Brooklyn Bridge and even managed a weekend getaway to Providence Rhode Island to Block Island. Even in the midst of a lockdown, the sites, the energy, the multiculturalism, and the excitement of NYC are obvious.

Coliving according to Yoan

As far as his coliving experience, Yoan says it best in his blog:

“I slowly discover what makes everyone love New York City. The number of different cultures is stunning. In my apartment alone, we have 5 different nationalities: Chinese, Brazilian, Middle Eastern, American, and French. That makes every conversation exciting and enriching. As a student living in my personal apartment in Paris, I never had that kind of experience, and I’m thrilled about living that!”

Yoan is spending his time working on other fantastic portfolios like his own full of 3D and cool WebGL effects. Feeding off the synergy that often comes from the coliving community, he’s working on developing a game and there are other projects in the works as well. As Yoan says, “Don’t waste your time, create your opportunities!“

You can find Yoan on his website, and follow him on Twitter, Instagram, Dribble, and Linkedin. Follow along with Yoan’s adventures during his time in NYC on his blog! You can find the SharedEasy Interview with Yoan on our YouTube Channel

It is also a great fit for those who want to belong to a company of like-minded people and build their social network.
