About this House

The Summary

BKLYN Townhouse Home is a renovated three story home on a tree-lined street surrounded by beautiful brownstones in the eclectic Bedford-Stuveyset (Bed-Stuy) neighborhood.

The Home

BKLYN Townhouse Home sits at the end of quiet street filled with brownstones, typical of this area of Bedford-Stuvyset. The first floor is occupied by a shared living room — cozy and quaint — with modern, comfortable furnishings and a large screen TV perfect for hosting movie nights and watch parties. The space has desks scattered about and a large round table in the corner for co-work space.

The cozy kitchen has stainless steel appliances and all of the essentials — coffee maker, pots and pans, kitchen gadgets, stove, oven and microwave. There is a washer and dryer in the kitchen and a door that leads to the outdoor space — a fenced in backyard perfect for gathering or taking in nature.

There are four bedrooms in total-all shared three-person rooms with individual closets and/or wardrobes. The beds are twin beds — linens, towels, comforter and pillows are provided. The rooms are full of light and there are hardwood floors that add to the open cozy and comfortable feel of the home. The shared bathrooms on each floor are centrally located and have both tubs and showers.

Explore the neighborhood

Since the days of Jay-Z and Lil Kim, Muhammad Ali and Chris Rock, all former residents of Bed-Stuy, the area has changed a bit. Young professionals and burgeoning artists have moved in. It keeps its original community feel, but Bed-Stuy is growing with the changes. Cafes, small eateries, boutiques and nightlife spots are changing the feel. Places like Peaches Hot House, Dough, the vintage store, Harold and Maude and nightspots like C’mon Everybody keep the neighborhood true to its eclectic roots.

Herbert Von King Park (Tompkins Ave. between Greene and Lafayette Aves.) was designed by the world-famous team of Frederick Law Olmsted (this famous design duo created Central Park and Prospect Park, as well) and it’s just about 2 blocks from the house. Prospect Park, Brooklyn’s biggest park,  is 20 minutes by car, 20 by bike, a half-hour distance by public transit.
